Is there anything more satisfying than a bathroom makeover? Seeing an outdated bathroom transformed into something glorious just makes us so happy, and since we know you love a bathroom reno too, we had to share with you one of our favourite bathroom ideas this month.

@theflipsiderestyled has done an incredibly cool job transforming her bathroom floor on a budget. The best bit? You can DIY this look yourself in your own bathroom and all you need paint, clear floor varnish and some tape. Easy peasy. So keep scrolling to see how you can give your bathroom a new lease of life.

Okay okay nothing too offensive here (swipe to seethe before), but we can see why Vicky of @theflipsiderestyledwanted to give her bathroom a well deserved colourful update. What you can’t see here is the TWO LAYERS of carpet that were on top of these lovely bare floorboards, who would do such a thing?

If you have carpet rather than tiles in your bathroom, get that stuff up! It’s an easy job to pull up a small section and peek what’s underneath. If it’s floorboards that are in good nick, continue to rip that carpet up! If you have tiles, we would recommend getting in a professional to remove them unless you are a DIY pro.

Anyway the after…

Ooooh ahhh, just look at that gorgeous floor now! Honestly, we think the floor is such a great place to add colours, especially in a small bathroom where anywhere else with that much in your face pink might overwhelm the room.

To transform her bathroom floor from ‘meh’ to ‘my god that’s cool’ Vicky simply painted the bare boards with Valspar’s Cat’s Pajamas and then used masking tape to create the cool abstract shapes, painting them with Rust-Oleum’s chalk paint. To seal it all and make it bathroom safe, Vicky then went over the floor with four coats of floor varnish.
