FALLS CHURCH, VA — About a week after the Washington Capitals fired coach Todd Reirden, his Falls Church area house is on the market.
Washingtonian first reported that the 3120 Beechwood Lane property belongs to the now-ousted coach and was previously owned by DC101 radio personality Elliot Segal. Reirden has owned the house since 2018, the year the Capitals won their first Stanley Cup. Reirden replaced Barry Trotz as head coach following the Cup win.
After the Capitals were eliminated in this year’s Stanley Cup playoffs by the New York Islanders team coached by Trotz, the Capitals announced on Aug. 23 that Reirden had been fired. Reirden had also been the coach when the Capitals were eliminated in first round of the 2019 playoffs by the Carolina Hurricanes.
As reported by Washingtonian, Reirden is moving out of the DC area as his next role in the National Hockey League remain unknown. His Falls Church area property, a six-bedroom estate south of the city, is listed for $2,250,000.
The home is described as a “Craftsman-style cedar shake Farm House” with impressive outdoor spaces. The home’s heated pool, cabana house, outdoor kitchen and bar, and changing room will certainly provide a staycation for the next homeowners. The interior has impeccable design with an open feel between the great room and chef’s kitchen and owner’s suite with a sound system. The lower level is ready to host a home theater with a sound system, bar, wine cellar, and another flexible entertainment space.
