An adult male, also in his 70s, was inside the residence as well and had suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. The man was taken to a hospital for treatment, police said.

The man’s relationship to the woman is unknown, police said. However, police do not believe there are any outstanding suspects.

The names of the man and woman were not released.

Scottsdale police detectives are investigating the shooting as a homicide, and the investigation is ongoing, according to police.
