Douglas Design District gains a salon in the same spot it lost one

UPDATED — Almost as soon as Holly Leeper opened GloBella Salon and Boutique at Brittany Center just over two years ago, she was out of space.

She continued to add services, such as spray tanning and lash extensions, and wanted to add more. Now, she’s doing that with a move to 1,972 square feet at 2900 E. Douglas, where Tangled Up Salon used to be.

Leeper said that salon’s built-in plumbing was nice since she’s adding a range of aesthetic services, such as facials, waxing, brow laminating and dermaplaning. She’s also adding massage and nail care.

“I also wanted something that was centrally located,” Leeper said. “I had clients begging me to come east and begging me to come west.”

She’s hoping being in the Douglas Design District will satisfy everyone.

“It’s up and coming,” Leeper said. “People are really starting to invest in those areas.”

The new aesthetic services GloBella will offer fit with the “beautiful glow” name, Leeper said, but she added, “For me, it’s personally just being happy (and) you have a glow about yourself.”

Patty Cisney of eXp Realty represented Leeper, and Carl Hebert of InSite Real Estate Group also handled the deal and helped with numerous renovations inside and out.

He’s also renovating the adjacent 2,424 square feet at 2910 E. Douglas, which shares a wall with GloBella.

“Renovations are underway, and a new storefront will be installed,” Hebert said. “We’ve gutted the inside.”

That space is available for lease.

GloBella opens in its new space on Tuesday, and there will be a grand opening from noon to 3 p.m. on Sept. 19 with numerous specials.
