Car crashes into home in Ottawa County causing significant damage

SPRING LAKE, MI — A car traveling at a high rate of speed crashed into two parked cars and then struck a home, causing significant damage Sunday morning at Country Estates Mobile Home Community.

A 25-year-old Grand Haven man was arrested after allegedly crashing his vehicle into a home Sunday, Aug. 23 at Country Estates Mobile Home Community in Spring Lake.

The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene just prior to 11 a.m. Aug. 23. The incident occurred on Quebec Drive, east of 148th Street, according to an incident report.

The driver of the vehicle, a 25-year-old Grand Haven man, was arrested on scene, the report states.

The preliminary investigation shows the man was driving a Subaru westbound on Quebec when he lost control of the vehicle, went off the north side of the roadway and struck a Mercury Milan and a Volkswagen GTI that were both parked in a driveway, the report states. The Subaru then crossed the roadway and went off the south side of the road striking a residence.

Neither vehicle struck or the home were occupied, according to the report.

The driver and his three passengers were not injured, however the residence sustained significant damage after being crashed into, the report states.
