Architecture practice and interior design business announce merger

Two Derbyshire businesses have joined forces to offer a luxury interior design service to homeowners and businesses.

Matthew Montague Architects, based in Ashbourne, and Derby-based Kelly Barker of Just Living Interiors have unveiled plans that bring together interior design and architectural services.

Matthew Montague Architects have achieved over 20 design commendations to date and are shortlisted for further awards in 2020.

Over recent years, the practice has completed a series of individual country homes around the region, current projects include a country manor house in North Derbyshire, a new substantial countryside home looking out over the Staffordshire Hills, a state-of-the-art eco-home and an extensive renovation of an Edwardian Hall in a Derbyshire Conservation area.

Just Living Interiors was founded in 2014 by Kelly Barker and specialises in high-end interior design.

Barker said: “I am excited to be joining such an established and creative practice. They have a great portfolio. We are in discussions with several clients already and I can’t wait to get going.’”

Montague added: “We have been in business for over 20 years and we work extensively with corporate clients and businesses however COVID-19 has influenced the growth areas within our business and the residential sector is something that is experiencing significant growth.

“Having Kelly on board enhances our skill set and enables us to offer a more comprehensive service. I welcome her to the team and I’m delighted to have her on board.”
