A WOOLWORTHS trolley collector at Lansell Square has tested positive to COVID-19. The Kangaroo Flat centre confirmed the news on Tuesday in a Facebook post. A centre spokesperson said the contractor last worked at Lansell Square on Friday, August 14 between 9.50am and 2.30pm. The worker was also at the centre at the following times: The spokesperson said the centre was advised late on Monday that the contractor had tested positive for COVID-19. The centre was waiting on confirmation of when the contractor was at Lansell Square and if they were contagious during their shift. Lansell Square underwent a deep clean on Monday night as a precautionary measure. The Woolworths store at the centre also underwent a deep clean and reopened on Tuesday. The spokesperson said the centre was advised there was a low risk to customers and other staff. “Woolworths have a process in place that ensures all trolleys are sanitised on return and before being used by another customer,” the spokesperson said. “We were advised by the Deputy Chief Medical Officer of Bendigo Health that the risk is low. “However, we did undertake an overnight deep clean as a precautionary measure. Woolworths also completed a deep overnight clean. “Additionally, when visiting Lansell Square, you are required to wear a face mask, socially distance and practice good hygiene. “All of these elements assist with further reducing risk and stopping the spread of COVID-19. We have also regularly communicated that if they are feeling unwell, please stay home. “We would like to thank our team, our community and our tenant customers for following these guidelines and working together to protect themselves and the broader community” The centre advised anyone who visited the Woolworths store on Friday and had COVID-19 symptoms should get tested for coronavirus and isolate as per the state government guidelines.
